Wood, metal and resin sheds come apart differently
A wood shed is framed like a small house. We strip the roofing, take the walls down in sections and cut the framing to size. Wood sheds weigh the most, so they sit at the higher end of the price range.
A metal shed is panels and screws. It comes apart quickly, but the sheet metal is sharp and goes to scrap, not the regular bin. Resin or plastic sheds are light and fast, though old ones turn brittle and crack as they are lifted, so we handle them in pieces. Tell us which you have and send a photo.
The base: pad, patio stones or gravel
Most sheds sit on a concrete pad, a bed of patio stones, a gravel base or just on timber skids. You decide what happens to it. A sound pad can stay and we sweep it clean, which saves money if you are putting something new there. A cracked pad, or one under what will become lawn, can be broken out and recycled.
Patio stones are lifted and stacked for you or hauled. Gravel is raked level. Slab removal is always its own line in the quote.
What is inside: what we don't take
Clear the shed before we arrive if you can. Old furniture, lumber and garden tools we can haul. We do not take paint, propane tanks, fuel, pesticides or other chemicals. Those need to go to a City of Toronto household hazardous waste drop-off, and the City website lists locations and hours. If something is left, we leave it for you rather than mix it into the load.
Getting it out through a side yard or laneway
On a laneway lot the bin can sit at the back gate, and the shed goes straight out. On many Toronto lots the only way out is a narrow side path or a shared driveway, so material is carried by hand and loaded at the front. We protect fences and gates along the route and price the carry in the written quote. A shed that sits tight against a property line is taken down by hand, not pulled.
Across the city
We take shed jobs across Toronto, including North York and Scarborough. Photos of the shed, the base and the route to the street are usually enough to quote. A small shed can be a same-week job. If a permit is a question for a larger outbuilding, the owner confirms that with the City; we do not file permits.

Shed Removal in Toronto FAQs
How much does shed removal cost in Toronto?
Shed removal typically runs $400–$1,200 for sheds up to about 10×10 feet, including teardown, loading and disposal. Metal and plastic sit at the lower end, and wood costs more. Concrete slab removal is an optional $2–$6 per square foot. See garage and shed demolition for details.
Do I need a permit to remove a shed?
Small accessory sheds often fall under the Ontario Building Code permit threshold, but a shed with power or a larger outbuilding may need review. The owner confirms the requirements with the City of Toronto. We do not file permits.
What is the difference between shed removal and shed demolition?
Demolition is the teardown. Removal also includes hauling away and disposing of the debris. Our price includes both, so you get a swept site.
Do I have to empty the shed first?
It is cheaper if you do. We can clear furniture, lumber and tools if you mention it during the quote. We do not take paint, propane, fuel or chemicals, which go to a City drop-off.
Do you remove the base too?
Your choice. A sound pad can stay and we sweep it. A cracked pad is broken out and recycled. Patio stones are lifted and gravel is raked level.
How long does it take?
Sheds are typically gone within a few hours. Slab removal adds about half a day.
